TN ULC Ministerial Union / Association

Greetings.

I'm a Universal Life Church minister living in Chattanooga, Tennessee, desirous of actively practicing what Christian Protestant theological reformers termed "the Priesthood of All Believers", but in a larger ("Universal") context than just christianity.

Universal Life Church official marriage certificate pic In 1997 the Tennessee State Attorney General wrote an opinion against the authority of Universal Life Church ministers to perform marriages in the state.

I have been told by a ULC contact "not to worry," that there's no problem, and that the TN State Attorney General just issued an opinion, not a ruling or legal change.

That's fine ... for now. But i'd like to prepare for the future.

To that end, i believe that we ULC ministers in Tennessee ought to get together and create a Tennessee Universal Life Church Ministerial Union / Association that as an organization would advocate and defend our legal ministerial standing, and also for the "the Priesthood of All Believers" mandate that we practice.

If you're interested, please e me at tpkunesh@chattanooga.net. If and when we can get five (5) TN ULC ministers together in favor of this Union, we'll make it so ... in Nashville this september 2003.
