Knowing the depths of your own ignorance is healthy.
Thinking that you know
what you really don't
is a cancer.

Only by realizing that you don't know
can you be healed.

The way to heal this cancer
is to recognize your false knowledge
as a disease,
thereby freeing yourself
of it.

People either experience god -- or they don't. Experience is knowledge, and different kinds of experience lend different kinds of knowledge. No person in the West ever attained or deduced the knowledge of the existence of Krishna and Kali through rational processes alone. Nor did it happen with the coelacanth or platypus. Reason cannot prove or disprove existence, regardless of self-contradictory texts or self-contradicting ministers.

Knowledge of a god's non-existence is not atheism. It is a faith statement as rationally deduced as god's existence.
Ignorance of a god's existence or non-existence is atheism. Atheism is knowing that the limits of god-knowledge is experience, and that an atheist does not have this experience. Agnosticism is not ignorance and inexperience of deity
