The goal of eastern religions is to free the mind
and body of socially-generated attachment to symbols of reality.
By freeing the mind of attachment to social and personal symbols, like money,
property, sex and success, a person is liberated from their restrictions. This is atheism.
The goal of western atheisms is to free the mind and body from
submission to traditional authority posing as objective mythical truth.
By freeing the mind of submission to self-claimed higher powers, like the
bible, tradition, and the state, a person is liberated from authority. |
